2019:  Forced owners to cover giant salt piles adjacent to Public Street right of way 

2020: Blocked proposed waste transfer facility close by a school and health center – would have moved 2,500 - 3,000 tons of waste per day, using diesel-powered trucks 

2021-2024: With 4 days notice, mobilized 400+ community members to testify against a fossil fuel company moving to the port. Eventually blocked 500,000+ gallons of liquid propane gas from moving to the port.

2024: Rallied to shut down unlicensed scrapyard – Rhode Island Recycled Metals – after multiple fires and environmental violations.

2024: Organized to hold ProvPort, Global Partners, and City of Providence accountable after bio-fuel explosion with no emergency notification of nearby residents.

2017-2020: Organized, documented incidents, and sustained pressure on regulators, forcing Sprague Operating Resources and state agencies to take action on odor control, monitoring, and compliance at the Port of Providence.

2021- 2023: Organized and sustained advocacy at the State House to shape and introduce the Green Justice Zone Act to ensure frontline communities have a voice in environmental decision-making. (Bill has died in Senate committee)

2022 - 2023: Organized sustained public pressure on city officials to demand stronger protections, transparency, and meaningful inclusion on port governance — shaping the terms of the ProvPort 30-year lease process.

2024: Organized and sustained pressure on Providence city officials to amend the city’s Comprehensive Plan to prohibit power plants dependent on fossil fuel combustion, noxious or toxic chemical manufacturing, and ethylene oxide manufacturing and storage in M2 and W3 zones.

December 2024: Organized and sustained public pressure to help build legal and political foundation for the RI Superior Court’s decision to uphold Providence’s ban on bulk liquid propane gas storage.

2024 - 2026: Organized, attended hearings, submitted detailed written feedback, and formed cross-neighborhood coalitions to demand that the ProvPort Master Plan include enforceable environmental protections, greater transparency, and meaningful community decision-making power.

Pushed the Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC) to have greater representation by BIPOC people living in Coastal Environmental Justice Communities

Built our base through canvassing, phone banking, organizing direct actions, and hosting educational events

Played key role in building broad-based coalitions in Rhode Island and across New England to fight for environmental justice

Coordinated coalition of community organizations to strengthen community voice and influence the Provport Master Plan
